Halo Reach Score Attack - One Player FireFight Credit Farming

Halo Reach Score Attack

Yes, this is the single player firefight option in matchmaking for Halo Reach. It can also be one of the most difficult playlist on Xbox Live. I just played a few matches of Score Attack so I could write up this article and guide to success and got extremely humbled by the difficulty of the levels. We can get into that later in the article. To sum up what I know about Score attack is that it could potentially be a great credit farm on Halo Reach. You can choose what type of game you want to try to play and then test your luck trying to break the system.

It pretty much comes down to three separate types of games you can play on 3 separate types of maps. The three game types are Sniper Defense, Score attack, and gruntpocalypse. Each three has it's own small twist and objectives but it all comes down to YOU. This playlist focuses on how well YOU can play firefight by YOURSELF with NO help.

Let me talk a little bit about each one.

Halo Reach Score Attack - Score Attack

The first option you will see will read Score Attack. Ironically named after the playlist itself this is the most difficult of the three. I have only played it once but got absolutely raped. I am no scrub at Halo either. I keep a good 1.5 k/d ratio in Matchmaking, but this firefight challenge stumped me.

You have to clear through all 5 stages of troops while maintaining your 10 lives. You get to choose from 5 distinct classes that involve a shotgun, grenade launcher, dmr, and assault rifle. Now I can't give you many tips on how to beat it considering I didn't. When I do I will come back and update this hub haha. But for now my only advise would be to focus on the earlier stages not to lose any lives to the earlier levels because you will need ALL of them for the last 3 rounds.

This is the most straight up it gets for firefight, not advised for farming credits, but a great challenge for those people who boast how good they are at firefight. You simply cant make an excuse for 5 brutes all unloading on you, especially when the game naturally turns on the grenade happy grunts. Good luck with this one!

Halo Reach Score Attack - Gruntpocalypse

Yes, the name does give away the majority of how this gametype is played. It is firefight... with ALL grunts. It gives you options of only spawning with DMR's but with your choice of special effect. I will go ahead and tell you to choose the bubble shield unless you plan on getting stuck or blowing up via random plasma grenade.

This is a survival and time limited match. You have to complete all 5 levels of grunts under 12 minutes while still not dying 10 times. Don't take your time hiding or you won make the curfew. Also do NOT underestimate these grenade happy grunts. If you blindly rush into them, you will die. Keep your distance and pop their heads. When they get close to you, find a new spot. Always try to stay in combat though as you will be getting a better credit score if you complete it in faster times.

This is GREAT for credit farming. Now don't try to farm credits the first time you play this or you will just end up dying and whining away about how dumb I am. Once you lock down your system and learn how exactly the grunts work, they can be manipulated. Go for as many multikills as possible and rack up those commendation medals.

Halo Reach Score Attack - Sniper Defense

YESSS, this is the all sniper firefight playlist for Score Attack. In my personal experience it is not as much fun as every other option. Why? Yes sniping is the best part of the game... when EVERY enemy isn't charging you. Every enemy usually knows where you are at all times and therefore sniping is almost impossible. I found my self picking up the enemy weapons because they are all on unlimited ammo and just farmed the heck out of the enemies. I am just saying the sniping aspect isn't what it should be.

Like the other two this is a timed 5 level pursuit with 10 lives. No special tricks, except that you can choose your random super power. DON"T PICK JET PACK. That is unless you wanna die..?

I hope you guys learned something about Halo Reach's Score Attack in my article!

Good luck and post any comments or questions below so I can go answer them!

Score attack is very easy. You get about 900-1100 per game which is cool. Ive lost like 4-5 times out of about 350 score attack games ive played.

I have noticed your artical to be extremely inacurate. First of all, there are 4 gametypes: Score Attack, Sniper Attack, Gruntpocalypse, and Crashsite. Secondly, you never choose the deployable shield unless you want to forfeit your credits and sit in it, choose the jetpack (easier to get to ammo crates/health in high places). Thirdly, Gruntpocalypse is the easiest of the gametypes, depending upon your playstyle, always rush the grunts (if you know how to shoot better than a 12 year old girl with the eyesite of a bat) rushing them will increase your chances of getting multikills and also increase the likelihood of making the time limit; therefore, faster games and more credits/hour. Score Attack is easily the best way to earn credits legitamately. I have gone 25-0 k/d, had 32 medals, and still only gotten 500 credits all-in-all. With Gruntpacalypse you get 900-1500 credits per game depending upon your performance. Oh, and with Crashsite you get unlimited lives and unlimited ammo, not to mention the oversheilds... The main point is to defend a generator. If you can survive several waves of enimies you can get quite a pretty penny for this gametype as well, I would suggest either Gruntpocalypse or Crashsite if you want to earn serious credits.

...Actually most species of bats have very good eyesight. It's just that it isn't adapted to low light conditions.

I find the bubble or the jet pack the best. The bubble lets you heal wherever you are at. Also choose smaller maps, my personal favorite is the courtyard, I sit in the left corner near the ammo and just pick off the three spawn points very quickly earning multi kills, then I head right and take out the other 2 disarm points. I see no need to rush into grunts unless they are behind cover.

score attack on beach head. get into the rocket hog, drive forwards(about 30 game meters)..park and then kill everything with the hog, works best on sniper attack as you can pick up a fuel rod cannon from a grunt early on and use it on the skirmishers.

I think you should play more before writing about it as this article reflected nothing of my extensive Score Attack experience.

BTW: I think you write very well. You just seemed too unfamiliar with Score Attack to write a legitimate article on the topic.

When playing just relax... all enemies have heads, personally I use the Recon class until round 3, the assault rifle is very good for disrupting jackels, for easy headshots with the DMR. Round 3 is possibly the hardest, since brutes tend to melee at close range, and they use armor lock when you throw gernades, i suggest if you can, picking up a needler or needle rifle for supercombines and head shots. Round 4 is a breeze just sit back with a DMR and headshot those skirmishers, But when round 5 rolls around pick up a plasma pistol and go for emp kills, Charged plasma pistol followed by a headshot w/ DMR that is with Elites. If they are Brutes try supercombines again, or just headshots. if you can, use the hammer..easy kills

As mentionedabove alot of your info is innacurate and to add to the statement about other variants there is also Mythic Attack. And score attack is easy start with the grenade launcher, if u die go armorlock but make sure u keep the launcher and the pistol. Use the pistol for the jackals and grunts if u need to otherwise use the grenade launcher as it 1 to 2 hits brutes and it 3 hits the stronger elites.

Cool story, bro.

Also the jet pack is probably the best ability for sniper attack if you have the skill to snipe while flying. It's not impossible, and makes it so easy to cross map your enemies and avoid taking damage.
