World of Warcraft Cataclysm Leveling - Cataclysm Leveling Zones

The leveling zones will be all throughout the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor in many of the same places you leveled from 1-60. They will be however, transformed after suffering from the Cataclysm which will change the very landscape and feel of the leveling areas we all grew up with. While I doubt that every single region will have large quest areas for 80-85, it is certain that almost every aspect of the landscape will be changed. This Cataclysm will also bring new monsters and new quests to the same exact areas as lower levels. Some of these quests are forseen to be from the same Npc’s and towns that were encountered at lower levels, and some are sure to be from whole new camps and towns.

Blizzard will now be allowing Flying mounts in these areas, so that you may easily maneuver throughout Azgalor. Not only will the flying mounts help players get from one area to another, it will open up the option for Blizzard to creat numerous areas that will only be reachable by flying. While not every area for 80-85 will be reachable only by flying, it is safe to assume that many of it will be. Along with the fact that the Cataclysm has completely changed the landscape, the flying mounts will also change many of the appearances in the major cities, as they now have to accommodate flying mounts. This news is among my favorite because one of the most painful part of the games is arriving somewhere in Azgalor only to remember that you cant use your flying mount, leaving you stuck to run around at 100% (which just feels slow)

We expect that along with these changes Blizzard will keep many of the ideas they have come up with while creating the Outlands and Northrend leveling zones. These zones differ greatly from the 1-60 leveling areas in that they have much more intricate and meaningful quest chains and overall feel.

The picture to the right is just one of the many examples of how the Cataclysm in World of Warcraft has completely changed the landscape of many familiar places.

As previously stated, while the whole landscape of World of Warcraft has been effected by the Cataclysm, obviously not all of it will be for 80-85. Because of the accommodation for 80-85 players and the landscape changes (aside from places reachable only by flying) Blizzard is almost completely re-making the overall feel of leveling 1-60. It can be certain that numerous quests regarding Cataclysm will be added for these lower levels, it can also be assumed that much of the current quests wil be removed. This is incredible news, because as we all know, the questing from 1-60 is not nearly as fun as 60-80. With the ability to remake the quests of 1-60, Blizzard will be revamping the feel of leveling, and will without a doubt make it a much more enjoyable experience. Finally we wont dread leveling our characters from 1-60, in fact I am sure most people, myself included, are looking forward to leveling in the completely remodeled 1-60 leveling system.

Aside from the change in already established leveling areas Blizzard will be adding two more areas for the new races: Worgen and Goblins. Each of these classes will receive their own leveling area from about 1-18 as has been done previously when Blizzard has added races. The Worgen will receive an area around the city in which they have been imprisoned all of these years. The Goblins will receive an area around the beach, where the Cataclysm washed them ashore. It can be sure that with Cataclysm both of these leveling areas will offer a great experience because of the all new storyline and all new quests and monsters.
